Help Pay For Your Bootcamp With WorkSource Atlanta & WIOA Funds

We offer a number of financing options in addition to scholarships in order to make our bootcamps more accessible to all, and today I’d like to tell you about an option you may not be aware of.

WorkSource Atlanta and WIOA

If you live in the Atlanta area and are looking to make a career change but financial constraints are holding you back, you may be eligible for WorkSource Atlanta through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA provides up to $7,000 in funding to eligible participants for training in high-demand careers, and our web development programs are included!

Determine If You’re Eligible for WIOA Funding

If you want to see if you qualify for training, you first must complete the Eligibility Application process. The eligibility process consists of four steps.

The first step you’ll need to do is determine if you are applying as an adult or as a dislocated worker. An adult is “a person 18 years or older who is underemployed or unemployed at the time of application,” while a dislocated worker is “a person who has been laid-off or terminated from work at no fault of their own.”

The second step is to complete the following documents:

The third step is to collect the following information:

  • Citizenship & Employment Eligibility
  • Age/DOB
  • Social Security Number
  • Residency
  • Selective Service (Males born after 1960)
  • Adult Low Income or Dislocated Worker Status

Once you’ve filled the previous documents and collected the required information, you’re ready for step four, which is simply to submit all of the previously mentioned documents and information into the Worksource Georgia portal.

After you've submitted this info, call your Eligibility Specialist to let them know. At this point, you are done with the eligibility process. Now it’s up to an Eligibility Specialist to complete step five - reviewing your documents and letting you know if you qualify for WIOA funding.

If You Qualify for Funding

If you are eligible for funding, your Eligibility Specialist will contact you with information about the Starting Your WIOA Program Session. Step six is to attend this orientation session. It’s intended to provide you with everything you need to know as a WIOA participant from career exploration opportunities to successful steps for program completion.

Next is step seven, where you will select your training program (that’s us!) and complete our admissions process, meet one on one with a WIOA Career Advisor and review your upcoming career change. You’ll be encouraged to consider questions like:

  • Am I selecting the right industry?
  • Will this industry provide me with the opportunity to support my needs?
  • Does this school help me get the license, certification, or degree that I need?

Step eight is to submit the fees sheet and acceptance letter that you receive from your DigitalCrafts Enrollment Coordinator to your WIOA Career Advisor. Your Career Advisor will then make the decision if you are approved for training (step nine).

If you’re approved, congratulations! At this point all you have to do is attend DigitalCrafts. We’re excited to have you in class!
